Frequently Asked Questions

My child is military and was determined eligible outside the State of Florida. What rights to services do I have when we transfer? Who should I contact?

The Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunities for Military Children requires receiving states to honor placement of gifted students in educational programs based on the eligibility requirements in the sending states. After initiating comparable services, the Compact allows the receiving state to administer the assessments necessary to determine initial eligibility. Military families should contact the district coordinator for the gifted and/or their educational liaison on base.
