One of the keys to effective service for students who are gifted is the role of the teacher. Florida is one of the few states with specific requirements for educators who work with gifted students. Endorsement requirements are available at Rule 6A-4.01791, F.A.C. WOGI strives to provide the most up-to-date information and resources for teachers who work with gifted students.

The PowerPoint on the Design Thinking presentation for the June 20, 2011 workshop for teachers new to gifted education is now available for download in both PowerPoint 97-2003 and PowerPoint 2007 formats, as well as Adobe PDF format.

Lee County Teacher Wins WOGI Curriculum Contest

Sue Valentine from Tanglewood Elementary School in the Lee County School District is the winner of the WOGI Curriculum Contest. She was recognized for her sample lesson entitled Digging Deep: Excavating the Habitat of the Gopher Tortoise. The lesson plan was created through Group Research for use with Grade 5 - Gifted Resource, serving students in the Part-time pull-out program.
