Save the Date for the 2011 WOGI Institute

bullet The next WOGI Institute is set for June 2-3, 2011. Dr. Mary Slade will present an all day session on program evaluation. This topic is of special importance as we begin implementing the state plan. Watch for more details later in the year.

2010 WOGI Institute

bullet The 2010 WOGI Institute keynote was Dr. Mary Slade, who presented "Best Practices in Gifted Education" at the 2010 WOGI Institute. Dr. Slade is a Professor in the Department of Exceptional Education in the College of Education at James Madison University. She directs the gifted education coursework and the Pre-K-12 Add-On Gifted Education Endorsement Program at JMU, and is co-author of a staff development book in gifted education and co-editor of Aiming for Excellence: The NAGC Pre-K-12 Gifted Program Standards. 2009 WOGI Institute

bullet The 2009 WOGI Institute keynote was Dr. Julia L. Roberts, co-author of Assessing Differentiated Student Products: A Protocol for Development and Evaluation, who offered strategies related to designing student product rubrics utilizing the Florida’s Frameworks for K-12 Gifted Learners. In addition, several coordinators of gifted programs presented information on their screening pilots related to reducing disproportionality in their gifted programs. Kimberley Kraft, from Pearson, shared information about the new online version of the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test 2.
